Next week is a meeting of the California Commission on Disability Access (CCDA) where they will discuss their five year strategic plan.  We are encouraging members of the public and members of the business community that are impacted by ADA laws to get involved in this meeting and participate with the CCDA.  Our industry will have at least two representatives at the meeting, but we really need businesses that are directly impacted by the law to participate and educate members of the Commission about its impact.

In general, we hope the Commission will continue building on the reform successes of the past few years, find ways to minimize unnecessary lawsuits, continue working with the business community to assure access is expanded in ways that make sense, and encourage the federal government to adopt some of the reforms that California has implemented.  Aside from these specific messages, we want to assure that the Commission knows that the business community is interested, engaged, and paying close attention to these important issues.

The meeting is open to the public and the Commission is encouraging participation.  This  event will be held on October 13, 2016 at the CCDA Headquarters, located at 721 Capitol Mall, Room 242, (2nd Floor), Sacramento, California  from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
