Two bills in the California State Legislature are addressing the issue of AEDs (defibrillators) in commercial buildings. 

SB 658 Hill – Addresses onerous training requirements.

We are taking a support position on this measure.  Feedback that we are getting from members is that one reason AEDs are not more widespread is directly due to the training requirements that addressed in this bill.

 SB 287 Hueso – Mandates installations in New Buildings with 200+ Occupancy

We have taken an oppose position to this bill due to the fact that until the issues contained in AB 658 are resolved, AED’s should not.
