BOMA California is headquartered in Sacramento and has a full time presence at the Capitol and regulatory agencies. Each local association nominates up to five of its members to represent that association on the BOMA California Board of Directors. Therefore, every BOMA member in California has a voice in the setting of policies of BOMA California vis-à-vis their local association representation on the state association’s governing board.

For 2013 the BOMA California Board of Directors selected a veteran commercial real estate leasing professional to helm the organization as its President.  Brian Harnetiaux is a Vice President at Transwestern and is responsible for the leasing and management of 2.1 million square feet of office space. He has served a two-year term as president of BOMA Orange County and also currently serves on the executive committee of BOMA International. In 2011, Harnetiaux was named BOMA OC’s Principal Member of the Year.

Harnetiaux’s company, Transwestern, is a national, privately-held operating company specializing in commercial real estate services, investment and development.  The firm’s fully integrated approach delivers value to owners, investors and users of commercial real estate through innovation, penetrating market intelligence and legendary service delivered by teams of local experts.

Harnetiaux is a graduate of UC Davis and lives in San Clemente with his wife and two daughters.
