SB 750 Wolk D Building standards: water meters: multiunit structures.
Would require a water purveyor that provides water service to a newly constructed multiunit residential structure or newly constructed mixed-use residential and commercial structure that submits an application for a water connection after January 1, 2014, to require the installation of either a water meter, as defined, or a submeter, as defined, to measure water supplied to each individual dwelling unit. The bill would exempt certain buildings from these requirements. This bill contains other related provisions and other existing laws.
SB 135 Padilla D Earthquake early warning system.
Would require the Office of Emergency Services, in collaboration with various entities, including the United States Geological Survey, to develop a comprehensive statewide earthquake early warning system in California.
