The California Energy Commission has released an update to the Existing Building Energy Efficiency Action Plan (as required by SB 350/SB 758).  This document is meant to set the agenda for Title 24 changes.  If you own existing buildings and are concerned about the increasing costs for tenant improvements we highly encourage you to share this document with experts and get us specific feedback to carry forth to the commission.  We also encourage you to ask your experts to participate in upcoming workshops to provide direct input.

You may look at this document and think it makes sense.  If that is the case, we’d like to know that.  The commercial real estate industry has spent a lot of time and effort in the past two years working with other stakeholders on this plan and much of the revised drafts reflect our input.  However, we must remain vigilant and engaged and appreciate you taking the time to provide any comment you may have.
