In a case that will be closely watched by the commercial real estate industry, Safeway has filed suit to prevent solicitors from gathering signatures in front its Sacramento stores.  The solicitors are gathering signatures in opposition to a recent arena deal; however the underlying issue of businesses being able to control such activity on their properties is the question.  According to the Sacramento Bee, the grocer’s complaint in Sacramento Superior Court says unknown solicitors “entered the premises without permission and refused to leave when asked to do so by store personnel and representatives.”  Click here for more information.
