Meanwhile two Central Valley legislators have announced plans to address the pending water bond in a manner that will hopefully allow it to be voted on and passed on this November’s ballot.  Their bill, SB 927, proposes $9.2 billion in bonds for projects relating to drought relief, water supply reliability, ecosystem and watershed protection and restoration, and emergency actions that ensure a clean water supply.  The measure trims down the current $12 billion water bond that the Legislature negotiated in 2009.  The new bill prioritizes water storage, clean drinking water, and protecting the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta water supply.  Click here for a full story
