2014 WATER BOND AND OTHER PROPOSITIONS

CBPA supports the Water Bond which will be on the November Ballot as Proposition 1.  The measure replaces a previously planned water bond that was pulled from the ballot, with a $7.5 billion bond, and will help provide much needed water infrastructure. GOVERNOR SIGNS MANDATORY SICK LEAVE BILL

The governor has signed AB 1522 (Gonzalez) Healthy Workplaces, Healthy Families Act of 2014.  The bill requires nearly all California employers to provide a minimum of three paid sick days to their workers who meet certain requirements.  The bill goes into effect on July 1, 2015, and will be the nation’s largest expansion of this employee benefit Click here for more information.
